Bad Decisions

I'm not sure if anyone watches The Bachelorette, but Jillian is really starting to disappoint me. She keeps giving the wrong people chances and letting the right people go. She's going to regret getting rid of all the "good" guys!
I feel so bad for Michael Jackson's family. I understand that everyone loves a good scandal, but don't people think Katherine Jackson is suffering enough? She has lost a child, a troubled one at that, whom she has had to defend their whole lives. And now all of these rumors surround his death? That poor woman. I think it is great that a judge has granted her petition for temporary custody of Michael's kids. Who knows what Debbie Rowe will do, but I don't feel like she has any rights to them. You don't just walk away from your babies for money, that's pathetic. She obviously didn't want her babies in the first place, and doesn't deserve them now. While Michael was an odd dude, he loved those children and gave them everything he could to make sure they were happy.
Well, it seems I am quite opinionated today, huh? Oh well, that's what blogs are for right?
Kailyn left yesterday with her dad for a float trip on the Current. She was so stinking excited to go on her canoe trip, I think she is going to have a ton of fun! I can't wait to hear from them tonight to see how the floating was!
I shall leave you with another cartoon from baby-gaga.com. This one is the cartoon from 9 weeks. Have a lovely Tuesday!

Sad, Sad Day

What a sad, sad day for Hollywood yesterday. Well, for everyone. First with the death of Farrah Fawcett, an iconic beauty. A powerful advocate for cancer since 1980, who lost her battle. What a hero. R.I.P.

Then, the death of Michael Jackson, an iconic pop star, singer, dancer.....legend. The death of Michael seems to hit home a bit more for me, mainly because I grew up in love with him. Anyone who has ever had any sort of love for music or dancing, has pulled inspiration from the King. What an amazing person. Whether misunderstood or not in so many aspects, every single person on this planet has been changed by Michael Jackson in some way or another. How astonishing is that? The influence of one person on an entire planet? CNN compares his death to the death of Elvis, but in reality, Michael was even bigger. His music, his impact, his character, they were all bigger. The biggest. The best. Michael is the first big icon that my generation has lost, and I'm not going to lie, it hurts. God Bless the Jackson family, Michael's friends and supporters (the real ones) and especially his 3 beautiful children. R.I.P.

Don't Drink the Water

Morning, all! Do you know that at this current moment, I can name 13 pregnant women, NOT including myself? Holy cow, there must be something in the water! I must say, if a pregnancy is not in your future, you may want to drink manufactured drinks only, lol! What a baby boom.
Good news, people, well, GREAT news! The Marshall Public Schools Board Meeting was last night and Joe received a call at about 8:30am this morning that he was approved as the new groundskeeper! How fabulous is that? A steady, all year round, income! Woo Hoo! There were 35 applicants, 3 were interviewed and my hubby got it.....I am so proud! Now we must sit down and talk lawn care business and what we will do with his 82 bazillion yards, since his start date is July 1st. We've had a few offers, but Joe is a perfectionist and really cares for his customers and wants to be sure that they will always be taken care of! What a nice guy!
Kailyn got to play tball last night. It was so hot, but the park made "makeshift" diamonds at the back of the fields in the shade, and it helped tremendously. I had brought 2 waters, a gatorade and a frozen washcloth for Kailyn, while her dad brought a huge thermos of ice water and a gatorade too. I'd say she was going to be nice and cool! She did, however, make it known in the outfield at the top of the second inning, that she was done. She was standing between Joe and Justin King, and Justin said she turned around to them and said, "Can we go home now, I'm so hot I'm about to die here!" She is so dramatic, she cracks me up! I did take pictures last night, and I got some good ones, but I haven't uploaded them yet, so I will post them soon, I promise!
In closing, a funny little pregnancy cartoon from baby-gaga.com. It is the 8th week cartoon. Well, I guess that's all I've got, Happy Hump Day!

Left to the Dogs

Well, it's official. Other than my growing embryo and 3 dogs, I am all alone. Kailyn left at noon yesterday to go to her dad's for 2 week session #2 and Joe left with his dad to fish at Bennett around 2pm. I will admit, we (myself, Aaron, Jordan, Penny and Dad) went last night to eat for Father's Day, and once I said I was going to be alone, Jordan graciously volunteered to stay with me. She hadn't seen SawV yet, so she came over after volleyball practice and we watched it. I think I would have been ok, but I'm glad she was there anyway!

I can't believe how fast the weekends go. They just fly by! So, here we are, another Monday. I've got two pretty nice sized stacks of invoices that need to be entered, so I should probably get to work. Blah! My head is about to explode. Have a great Monday, people!

OOPS!

Oh goodness, I am way behind! I have been kind of busy and so so tired, so please forgive me and we'll catch right up.
Kailyn did get to have tball practice on Friday, and she had fun! When we left there, she decided to pick KFC (which I had for lunch Friday too) for supper and we rented 3 movies. We ate supper, made a pallet on the living room floor and watched Beethoven's Big Break (cute!). Apparently we thought we were rock stars, though, because when that movie was over, we started watching Bolt.....Kailyn and I both fell asleep. Joe finished it, though!

Since Saturday was pretty chilly, I figured Kailyn and I's day was going to be ruined. I made some cinnamon rolls (that Kailyn wouldn't eat because they looked funny) for me and Lucky Charms for Kailyn and we sat down to finish up Bolt. Let me just tell you that I Loved It! I cried like a little girl, I mean, it was so bad that Kailyn looked over at me and said, "Mommy, do you need another kleenex?" That's right, I'm a little emotional, or hormonal, whatever you want to say. Anywho, by the time the movie was over and I had pulled myself back together, the sun had come out! Kailyn and I put on our swimming suits and headed to the MAC to meet Nana Penny for some water time. P.S., do you recall the chilly morning, yeah, well, the water was flipping freezing. Nana was all up in it, though, so she and Kailyn swam all over and I sat on the side and watched. And even though the sun only peeked out a couple of times, my shoulders got burned! I coated Kailyn with sunscreen, but her skin is kind of sensitive, I thought I would be ok! Needless to say, we were at the pool for a couple of hours and then we went home and took a big fat nap (YAY!) for a couple of hours. It was fantastic, because my sweet baby girl climbed right up on me on the couch and fell out. I got to cuddle her the whole time! When we woke up, I put some chicken in the oven and Kailyn and I went to Wal-Mart for a few groceries. After supper, we watched Beethoven's Big Break...again...and then we tried to watch The Tale of Despereax (however you spell that), but we didn't make it, because it's terrible. Sorry, but it's true.
Sunday we had a family reunion at the park with the Akeman side of our family. It was a lot of good eats and good people, but the fetus and I weren't getting along so well, so I didn't have the best time. When we got home, my wonderful husband took my wonderful daughter on a bike ride so that mommy could take a little nap before tball. That's right, tball. And we played! It was about 3000 degrees at 5pm on Field 2, but those kids got to play! I bet you'd like to see pictures, wouldn't you. Yeah, me too, but being "mom of the year", I forgot my stinking camera! Seriously!? That game was probably the only one those poor kids will get to play this season and I forgot my camera!!!!! Horrible.
Monday was pretty mundane, not much to report. I did make my choices for the final two men for Jillian on the Bachelorette. Ready?
Jesse and Kiptyn

I like them both, A LOT! She could pick either one and I'd be cool. (Like it should even matter to me!) Damn reality tv.
You'll be surprised to know that tball was cancelled yesterday, Tuesday. I know, real shocker, huh? Stupid rain. Joe and I did go to our first OB/GYN appt! Dr McCoy says there's a baby in there, that I'm about 7 weeks or so and that I should take Folic Acid and Fish Oil along with my regular prenatal vitamin. They did some blood work, so when we go back on July 14th, we should know a more decisive due date.
Today, Wednesday, should be pretty ok. My favorite show, So You Think You Can Dance, is on at 7pm. Kailyn loves it too, so we watch it together! It's a great show.
My mom is on vacation this week, so Kailyn is spending her days with Mimi. She leaves on Sunday to go to Jeff's for 2 week session #2, so Mimi is pulling out all the stocks to have a super week! On Monday, rain and all, they made banana pancakes, played in the creek below my mom's house, bathed, rode Bessie and groomed her, played with the cats, bathed, and played some more! On Tuesday, rain again, they went to breakfast with my Gma, played with the cats, played in the creek, showered, played on the slip and slide and watched Bolt. Honestly, I don't know how those two can stay awake until bedtime with all their activities!

Well, people, work's a calling, so Happy HumpDay!

TGIF

Oh how lovely it is that today is Friday! I am really hoping the weather stays nice this weekend so Kailyn and I can get out and do some stuff.
Kailyn has tball practice at 5:30pm tonight in hopes that we will get to play our FIRST game (a make-up game, no less) this Sunday at 5pm. I've got my fingers crossed for no rain on Sunday, even though it's in the forecast (of course)!
It is supposed to be pretty nice on Saturday, I'm hoping Kailyn and I can go swimming! We have a pass to the MAC and we haven't used it yet. I think it would be fun for sure!
Did you guys see that growing baby on the right side of the screen? It's losing that tail more and more everyday! Oh Grammy, I found a picture of a 7 week old fetus on the 'net, and it is very close up. Now you can cleary see Baby Klinge's eyes! Now if the little bambino would just concentrate more on not making mommy extremely nauseas all day, everyday, we'd be in business!

Congrats to Robbie and Miranda Fuchs on the birth of their sweet baby girl #3, Marlee! I was lucky enough to see pictures on Aly's blog, and she sure does look pretty. What a gorgeous family!
Well, that's all I've got. I can't wait until 4:30, ah the weekend! Have a great one, everybody!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Now let's get serious. Kailyn is signed up for TBall at Indian Foothills. However, the poor kids haven't gotten to play any games yet because it seems to rain it's butt off every Tuesday. Convenient, huh? Well, it's supposed to start raining this afternoon, but I'm really, really, really hoping it doesn't! Kailyn and her team don't get to make these games up, as far as I know, so I would like to see her play as much as possible! Could you guys keep your fingers crossed that the rain holds off until at least 8 or 8:30 tonight, please? Thanks! Have a great day all!

Introducing Bessie!

At about 6:10pm last night, Kailyn became the proud new owner of a pony! Bessie was waiting in the barn, with Ray and Joe loaded with camcorders, with a red ribbon tied in her halter. As soon as my mom and I got to her house from meeting Jeff, we had her yell for PaPa and he told her he was in the barn. She went sprinting, and my mom and I were jetting after her to see her reaction, which I don't think was exactly what PaPa was looking for. I think she was overwhelmed! Hello, kids say things all the time like, "I want a pony", but they don't really get one! I mean, can you imagine being 5 and walking into the barn expecting to find your PaPa and you find two camcorders in your face to catch your reaction to the saddled up PONY that is YOURS? Anyway, PaPa was dying for Kailyn to ride Bessie and she said she wanted to. However, we got to the round pin, Kailyn took one lap around and she was done! I think it broke PaPa's heart :( . She did wake up this morning and think Bessie was still pretty cool! That's really all the news I've got! I am so thrilled that Kailyn is finally home. I am nauseas 24 hours a day, but I am hoping she and I will get some fun activities in before she goes back to her dad's for session #2 on June 21st. She did give me some great pregnancy advise last night before she got in the bath. We were finishing up an episode of iCarly and she was climbing up in my lap. When she put all of her weight on one of my boobs, I said, "Ow!". She said, "Oh, sorry, was that the baby?" I said, "No, just one of my boobs." She said, "Oh, well that's good, by the way, mom, when you take a bath, you should be really careful. I mean, when you wash your belly, be careful not to punch yourself, because you would be punching the baby." With a very straight face, I said, "That's good thinking, Boog, I'll definitely remember that!" Kids are so funny!

Countdown!

The countdown is on.....only 4 days until Kailyn is home! Thank the good Lord! Man I miss that little stinker so bad! What's worse is that I really thought these two weeks were going to be a breeze, I mean, I was going to get to see her at t-ball on Tuesday's, but NO! Everytime Tuesday rolls around, it rains it's butt off and t-ball is cancelled! Just my luck. I did talk to Kailyn on Tuesday(I usually call her every other day), though. I told her I was sad that she didn't have t-ball and asked her what she had done that day. Get ready for this one:
Kailyn - "Well first we went and looked for the beaver"
Me - "The beaver? Who went, you and your daddy?"
Kailyn - "Yeah, but when we got there, there were snake eggs. But they were cracked open because the snakes had already gotten out"
Me - "Where exactly were you looking for a beaver, at your daddy's house?"
Kailyn - "By the water, in the woods"
Me - "Did the beaver build a dam?"
Kailyn - "Yeah"
Seriously, I didn't talk to Jeff after that, so I don't know if they really were on a quest to find a beaver and found opened snake eggs instead, or if she has one elaborate imagination. Neither scenario would surprise me, though. Did I mention I miss her?

Joe's cousin, Richard, just got back from Jamaica with his new wife, Ariel! I saw pictures of their wedding, it was GORGEOUS! Beautiful couple, beautiful beach, it was awesome!

So I posted all of Joe and I's "We Did It" session with Kathy McCloy on facebook, and I have gotten some great feedback. People have really said nice things about the whole album, but one of them made me LOVE my favorite picture even more! Thanks to Chelsea, I am pointing this out to everyone, because it truly makes the picture that much better! In this picture, it looks like I am turning back and pulling Joe along for the walk. Now, if you look closely, the area between our bodies makes a heart!! I don't know if Kathy's just that good and planned that, or if it just happened, but it blows me away. That picture has been one of my faves from the beginning, but that heart pushed it to #1 no matter what! LOVE IT!
Well, that's all I've got, but I hope everyone has a great Thursday! Tonight on So You Think You Can Dance, we will find out who makes the top 20, even though they got rid of my top girl pick during Vegas week. You know I'll still watch it no matter what! Tomorrow is Friday! WooHoo!

SURPRISE!

If you'll kindly look to the top right of this-here blog, you'll find a new widget countdown tool. See it? That's right, that is Joe and I's little alien floating around in there! We are PREGNANT! Only about 5-6 weeks, but pregnant, nonetheless. When we first started trying, Joe decided we wouldn't tell anyone until we were at least 12 weeks, but #1 - I am already pooching out and #2 - New Daddy has been shouting our news from the rooftops! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE it that he is so excited, I just think it's funny that it was his idea not to tell, but he is the blabber mouth! Well, with him telling everyone, I was afraid that someone would see Kailyn in town (she's still with her dad for her 2 week session) and say something to her, so Friday night after her Bible School program, I told her. Here's how it went down:
Clap, clap, clap, the program is over. The pre-k class is dismissed to their parents and Kailyn runs to me as fast as she can and squeezes me tight (she didn't know I was coming, I surprised her). I told her how wonderful she did and that I just really thought she sang so well that she deserved to hear a surprise. Her eyes were the size of golf balls, and she leaned in really close. I said, "Mommy has a baby in her tummy". Silence.....She looks at my face, looks at my tummy, looks at my face, and finally says, "Really?". I said, "Yes, ma'am, it's really tiny right now, it won't be born until after you're 6th birthday. Silence again.....She becomes very serious now and says, "But when I get home from my daddy's, we can still go to Wal-Mart and buy that stroller that I want, right?" I fell out! She's been saving her money for this doll stroller that she really wants, and has gotten rid of an old one so that she has room in her toy room for it. That stroller is a big deal, seriously! I don't think I could love that little girl any more if I tried. I miss her so much and I am ready for her to come home! Only 6 more days!
Well, the garage sale was a flop. Lesson learned: ADVERTISE! Oh well, Mandi and I hung out and had a good time anyway.
I did have a fantastic surprise on Saturday afternoon! Joe and I had just gotten everything put away from the garage sale and he had just left to pick up Andy for Rockfest, when my doorbell rang. When I opened the door, it was Kim! How exciting! She motioned to Adam that I was home, and he brought Mr. Kane in with him! What a sweet, sweet boy. He is getting so tall already, it is sad. He was 6 weeks old on Saturday, man, time flies! It really was a great surprise, Thanks Kim, Adam and Kane!!!!! After the Viquesney's left, I headed over to Nan's for a Pampered Chef party and then back home for a little power nap! After I got up, cleaned the house a little and took a bath, I picked up a pizza and movie for Mandi, Adi and I at the Bolling residence. We rented "Bride Wars", and it was ok, funny, but the ending was a bit much.

Happy Monday, people, have a great week!
