Showoff

Here is an actual picture of the race where Aaron got first. They actually had to go through this barn! And either there's a slight jump coming out of it, or he's just a showoff. I have yet to determine my opinion!Poor Elisabetta on Dancing with the Stars. She really did improve from last week, but I think she just didn't have a big enough fan base. I mean, honestly, you can say she's an Italian model until you're blue in the face, but the few people that actually did know who she was, knew because she dated George Clooney. I still think David Arquette should've gone, though, he's pretty not so good. Of course Biggest Loser was on last night, and I guess I'm good with the choice to send Boston Johnny home, but I think Bonnie should, at least, be the next to go. Just my opinion, folks, take it or leave it for sure!I finished my Joyce Meyer "Battlefield of the Mind" book yesterday. AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING. She helps to put you on the right path to being a true believer and live in the life of Christ. She uses awesome scriptures, and breaks them down for the feeble minded ones (myself) to truly understand and identify with. 17 thumbs up! I will definitely be reading more of her books in the VERY near future!!!!!That's all I've got, I really only blogged because I have a new awesome picture of my brother's last race, but being a chatty Kathy, I've always got something else to talk about!

Number One

For starters, I would just like to congratulate my awesome brother for a first place finish at his race this past weekend in Jenkins, Missouri. He was first in his heat and twenty-sixth overall, which is fantastic since there were like a hundred and forty-some riders! I have always been proud of Aaron, no matter what, but he is a really super talented rider and it just blows my pride right out of the water! (Notice: the picture below is from a different race, because this one was three and a half hours away, so no one went to watch.....and then he won the darn thing!)Secondly, a friend of mine posted this as their status on facebook and it is cute:

An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with a fellow passenger." The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the atheist, "What would you want to talk about?" "Oh, I don't know, " said the atheist. "How about why there is no God?" as he smiled smugly. "Ok," she said. "That could be an interesting topic, but let me ask you a question first: A horse, a cow and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?" The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea." To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss why there is no God when you don't know shit?" And then she went back to reading her book.

God is real people! He gave up his only son for our sins, so that we may live a life like Jesus Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit. I may not know much about all things Christian, but I am a true believer and I am becoming stronger everyday! Sometimes I think this world is turned around backwards. I feel like, for a while, I was turned around too, but I'm headed out of the wilderness now! "I believe God. I believe He is working in me no matter what I may feel or how the situation may look. The Lord has begun a good work in me, and He will bring it to full completion" (see Phil. 2:13; 1:6)

Fall Fever

No, not outside, people, although it is beautiful, it is also filled with biting mosquitoes and flying allergens. I'm talking TV!!!!!

I am so glad Ron Artest (or Metta World Peace since he changed his name) went home first on Dancing With the Stars. He was really cocky and showy. Everyone else had a pretty darn good showing, though. I don't know who to root for yet! I will say, however, that Maks is better than his brother Val, but neither one is too bad on the eyes for sure!
The Sing-Off is "off and running" and the first 8 groups were ones to be reckoned with! I thought it was really cool that a regular group from Branson, Missouri was on there (The Cat's Pajamas).....until they got kicked off on the first night. Honestly, though, they've already made it. They do 200 shows a year and some of these other groups are trying to get their big break! Definitely too early to pick a fave there too!Last night was the season premiere of Biggest Loser. OMG I LOVE THAT SHOW! All the stories are so heartbreaking and these people are just looking for the opportunity to change their lives for the better and I am amazed every season by their transformations and successes! I am also highly impressed with the new trainers! Of course I love Bob, he's Bob, for heaven's sake, he needs no introduction, he's proven his talent and his team spanked the competition in the first weigh in! I'd never heard of Dolvett Quince, but he is hard core! He definitely proved himself in the gym and he is so motivating! He speaks so tenderly to his team members and they certainly benefited from his training by way of the scale! Now Anna Kournikova I wasn't so sure about. I know tennis players are great athletes, but I wasn't sold on her ability to train, but she's got it! And she is so emotionally involved as well, I love it! I thought I would miss Jillian, but the three trainers on Biggest Loser right now are AMAZING! I think they are perfect, and I think they are perfect for their teams too! As of the first episode, I am really liking the blue team's Becky and the black team's Antone. Maybe it's just because they both had major break throughs so early, but they just both really seem to be there for all the right reasons and they are ready to do what needs to be done!Tonight starts X-Factor. I do love me some Simon Cowell, but we'll just have to see about this show. Did you know the winner of X-Factor wins 5 million dollars?!?! Holy cow! They better have some SUPER TALENT for that kind of money!AND GREY'S ANATOMY STARTS THURSDAY! I hope this season is better than the last, but the preview shows Meredith being fired, so I don't know where it can even go from here.....I really don't just sit around and watch TV, I swear. I do feed my family and bathe my kiddos and do household chores and such, just with the TV on. And with an occasional rewind on the DVR ;)

Oh the Labor

This year, Joe and I took Labor Day quite literally. You see, I've had this ingenious idea to get rid of the bushes in our front yard since we moved in and do some sort of fabulous landscaping. Trouble is, I am, in no way shape or form, a landscaper, nor do I possess an ounce of creativity. So here's what the bushes used to look like (along with what my teeny tiny baby and teeny tiny not yet first grade little girl with all her teeth):
This weekend, we leveled all the bushes, remulched and decorated! Here's the ending product:
All we're waiting for now is my log border and it'll be complete! It's very exciting!

Back in Session

Man, oh man, is summer over! One day you're maxin and relaxin with nothin to do, and the next you've got school, work, dance, acro, cheer, orthodontist, dentist, doctor, sinus infections, and so on and so forth!

Kailyn started SECOND GRADE! She has the super Mr. Makings as her teacher and has several friends in her class too! We had a bit of drama on day #1, however, as she had told me she would eat an "All American Hot Dog", but when she got to school, she apparently cried because her crappy mom forgot to bring her lunch! Super Joe to the rescue! The rest of the week went great until Friday. First thing in the morning I got a call on my cell phone from the Southeast Nurse (whom is really, really nice) to tell me that Kailyn felt like her expander was moving around in her mouth! NOT GOOD! I went straight there and she was right, that darn thing was on the verge of falling out! Dr. Kavanaugh's nurse was in Chillicothe, but could meet in Sedalia at 3:30, so my wonderful mom took Kailyn and they ended up taking it out. I guess when it started jarring loose, some food got wedged in her between her molar bracket and molar and she got an infection. Nothing a few warm salt water rinses won't cure and her expander will get put back on at her regular ortho appointment here in town! What's the first thing Kailyn did when the nurse took that expander out, you ask? CHEW GUM! I don't think she's gone a single second without chewing gum since it came out (she's either making up for lost time or trying to beat Violet Beauregarde's record!)

Myer is still working diligently on he eye teeth to no avail. I feel horrible for the little guy. His gums are swollen and red, he chews on everything, drools all the time and snots like none other. And by the way, he still has a paci and doesn't really talk! What is going on here? The kid is so smart, he knows exactly what you're saying, and he knows exactly how to get what he wants. Other than that, I'm pretty sure he has found his calling in life. Acrobat/Dare Devil. He has mastered the art of climbing or riding anything that can be climbed or ridden. Now, don't turn me in for this, but I was cooking supper one day last week and I turned around to stir everything, and as I turned back around, by 19 month old was sitting in the middle of the kitchen table with a bite out of a peach and a bite out of an apple. He's a quick little sucker too. Needless to say, he likes fruits, so that's good, right?
By the way, our dogs are still lazy, but adorable.....
This past Saturday was an nice break from the norm, though, our really awesome friend joined the big 3-0 club with a surprise party. Let me just tell you, his amazing wife had been planning it for months and kept it a secret the WHOLE TIME! Now that's talent! There was great food, great friends and great times! I may or may not have taken advantage of a lawn jockey, but really I feel like he may have taken advantage of me, so the jury's still out on that one. My AMAZING brother has been placing the heck out of some races lately! Lots and lots! I've always been so proud of him for being such a talented rider!
Unfortunately, here's the bad news. First my mom had bronchitis and sinusitis, then Joe got a sinus infection and this morning, Kailyn woke up sounding just like them! Luckily, we have the BEST DOCTOR AND NURSES on the face of the planet, and since they saw Joe yesterday for his funk, they just called Kailyn in a Z-Pac to get her back on the mend.

Tonight starts Acro 2 and Jazz/Hip Hop for Kailyn, so that's exciting! She's been dying to wear her new booty shorts ;) Like I said before, she's enrolled in 3 classes this year, so I hope is doesn't wear her down. If so, we may have to make some changes. She is so talented and energetic! I can't wait to see what Myer is into at her age!

All right, all right, I've got to do some work. This getting caught up every 3 months or so is pretty time consuming ;)
