First was Joe. He came to me a few months ago with such a loaded question. "How would you feel if I didn't want to coach wrestling anymore?" Well, on one hand, overjoyed that he could spend more time with us! Practice has him getting home after 6pm every night and they have all day tournaments EVERY Saturday. On the other hand, super sad! This would've been Joe's 5th season with the wrestlers. The kids and I go to every home meet and cheer them on! Last year I started doing more and more for them, it was just like when I used to be a wrestling cheerleader ;) So I guess you're darned if you do and darned if you don't. I told Joe I supported him either way, but that it wasn't my decision to make. So, with a heavy heart, he decided to resign. We will now go to every home meet as a family of spectators! ;)
Second was Kailyn. Over the last year, she has become quite the tumbler! She even asked me if she could try out for the Acro Competition team with Shapes. Unfortunately, I told her no for this season. I made a deal with her to try the acro class full time first, and if she was still interested in doing only Acro, that she could try out next season. I just hated to see her give up dance class completely, and I didn't want her to be burned out from competing. We have agreed for her to do a dance class, an acro class and we're holding on to the cheer class as well. I know it seems like a lot, but she gave up Girl Scouts to keep cheer. I also told her that at the end of this season, she'd have to decide whether to specialize in dance or acro. Personally, in our town, I feel like she could go farther with acro and cheer, but I will support whatever she wants to do! Now if someone could just support my wallet! ;)

As for Myer and I, we are major decision-less! I'd like for him to decide to talk, but it's not really happening. I know he understands what we say, but he grunts and points when he wants something. I hope he speaks before kindergarten! Maybe it's that paci, but he's my last baby. I just can't take it from him yet. Like I say, you can tell the kid's smart. Apparently he's a freaking genius, because he doesn't even have to talk to get exactly what he wants! ;)
Have a great week! ;)
Speaking of Myer:
School will be starting soon, I can't believe summer is almost over! I did some tax free internet shopping today and also bought Kailyn's school supplies. I think we're ready, since it's coming whether we like it or not ;)
May your dreams be haunted,
As for Myer's grill, he's still having some troubles. He now has 8 teeth and 3 molars, but that fourth one is a booger! His gums are so swollen and you can feel the tooth right beneath the surface and he chews on EVERYTHING, but the darn thing won't push through. That makes for a grumpy baby boy sometimes. However, when he is not hurting these days, he is practicing his vocabulary. By 17 months, Kailyn was speaking in sentences, so I've been worried that maybe Myer wasn't going to speak at all. Can you get through life grunting and pointing? I think when you're the baby, you might be able to get by with it. Joe and I have really been trying to say what he wants and communicate with him more, rather than jump and run when he grunts at us ;) He now says the obvious Dada and Mama (his specialties for a while), dog, pa-pa (pacifier), my, and go. He also says something for Kailyn, but it sounds different from time to time, so I don't want to misquote him.
I have BIG NEWS! We traded the old family wagon for a sleek sedan! Don't get me wrong, I did like my pacifica, but the gas mileage wasn't great and we figured that since we didn't really NEED a third seat, why pay to haul it around? So we got a Ford Taurus. Believe me, I know what you're thinking, I used to have one of the older models. A sage green one. Talk about grocery getter. But not this baby. It's got tons of room and still looks sporty! I AM IN LOVE!
My Step-Dad ;)
My Hubby ;)
Kailyn's Dad ;)
Happy Father's Day to all the Fantastic Father's out there!

That's right, she is toothless! No yummy corn on the cob for my baby girl for a while :) I promised her I could cut it off! It seems that Myer gets more teeth every time Kailyn loses one. Right now he is working on some top molars. Those things are boogers! He's had kind of a hard time with them :(
Let me just tell you, it is good! It is very well written and in a manner that you don't want to put it down. Each chapter is written from a different character's point of view and gives you so many different sides to the story. Heather Gudenkauf has another book The Weight of Silence, that has somewhat of a similar storyline to the one I'm reading now. I'm downloading it next! Recently I read a couple of books by Pam Lewis, as well, and I wasn't sure how I felt about them at first, but they both ended up being pretty good. I've got a list of books going now that I'm going to try out. Maybe a couple of Sara Gruen's other books and an author named Carol Cassella, who is said to write similarly to Jodi Picoult. I know I should probably be doing something more productive, like working out, when I put the kids to bed, but I really consider that my "me" time and would much rather read! Since I got my Kindle for Christmas I've read 10 books. These Things Hidden is number 11. Only one of them was a flop and took me a really long time to read. I finished it, but it was terrible. I do not recommend The False Friend by Myla Goldberg.
Well, it's only a 4 day week, so I'd better get my rear in gear! Have a great week!
