Disappointment

Who, you may wonder, am I disappointed in? None other than Albert Pujols. If you live under a rock, let me fill you in. Today, Albert is planning to sign with the Los Angeles Angels for a 10 year $250 million contract.
Albert began playing in the majors with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2001 and has only played for the Cardinals in his career. He has definitely made his mark in major league baseball, please don't get me wrong. However, the more media attention he got over the years, the more greedy he got. Albert graduated from high school in Independence, Missouri and went to college in Kansas City. He's a Missouri boy. Or at least he was.

This year, the St. Louis Cardinals won the World Series. Was Albert Pujols the MVP of the series? Not even close, it was David Freese. Not that David Freese was the only great player on the team, because, outside of a few errors, the St. Louis Cardinals played their asses off. But, last I heard, Albert Pujols was the ever feared power hitter for the Cards. Funny, he must not have gotten the memo for the whole World Series event, because he was a pop flying machine all the way.

Now, everyone is so worried about the St. Louis Cardinals never winning another game again because the "beloved" Albert Pujols has left, but not me. With a new manager coming in (I love you Tony LaRussa and you will be greatly missed), and now with Albert leaving, the Cards have something to prove. And do you know what I think? I think they are going to be out to prove a point. They are a team to be reckoned with, period. They still have an entire team filled with amazing players! So good luck and good riddens to you, Mr. Money Hungry Albert Pujols. You have definitely shown your true colors today, sir. You do not deserve to wear Cardinal Red.
