Back in Session

Man, oh man, is summer over! One day you're maxin and relaxin with nothin to do, and the next you've got school, work, dance, acro, cheer, orthodontist, dentist, doctor, sinus infections, and so on and so forth!

Kailyn started SECOND GRADE! She has the super Mr. Makings as her teacher and has several friends in her class too! We had a bit of drama on day #1, however, as she had told me she would eat an "All American Hot Dog", but when she got to school, she apparently cried because her crappy mom forgot to bring her lunch! Super Joe to the rescue! The rest of the week went great until Friday. First thing in the morning I got a call on my cell phone from the Southeast Nurse (whom is really, really nice) to tell me that Kailyn felt like her expander was moving around in her mouth! NOT GOOD! I went straight there and she was right, that darn thing was on the verge of falling out! Dr. Kavanaugh's nurse was in Chillicothe, but could meet in Sedalia at 3:30, so my wonderful mom took Kailyn and they ended up taking it out. I guess when it started jarring loose, some food got wedged in her between her molar bracket and molar and she got an infection. Nothing a few warm salt water rinses won't cure and her expander will get put back on at her regular ortho appointment here in town! What's the first thing Kailyn did when the nurse took that expander out, you ask? CHEW GUM! I don't think she's gone a single second without chewing gum since it came out (she's either making up for lost time or trying to beat Violet Beauregarde's record!)

Myer is still working diligently on he eye teeth to no avail. I feel horrible for the little guy. His gums are swollen and red, he chews on everything, drools all the time and snots like none other. And by the way, he still has a paci and doesn't really talk! What is going on here? The kid is so smart, he knows exactly what you're saying, and he knows exactly how to get what he wants. Other than that, I'm pretty sure he has found his calling in life. Acrobat/Dare Devil. He has mastered the art of climbing or riding anything that can be climbed or ridden. Now, don't turn me in for this, but I was cooking supper one day last week and I turned around to stir everything, and as I turned back around, by 19 month old was sitting in the middle of the kitchen table with a bite out of a peach and a bite out of an apple. He's a quick little sucker too. Needless to say, he likes fruits, so that's good, right?
By the way, our dogs are still lazy, but adorable.....
This past Saturday was an nice break from the norm, though, our really awesome friend joined the big 3-0 club with a surprise party. Let me just tell you, his amazing wife had been planning it for months and kept it a secret the WHOLE TIME! Now that's talent! There was great food, great friends and great times! I may or may not have taken advantage of a lawn jockey, but really I feel like he may have taken advantage of me, so the jury's still out on that one. My AMAZING brother has been placing the heck out of some races lately! Lots and lots! I've always been so proud of him for being such a talented rider!
Unfortunately, here's the bad news. First my mom had bronchitis and sinusitis, then Joe got a sinus infection and this morning, Kailyn woke up sounding just like them! Luckily, we have the BEST DOCTOR AND NURSES on the face of the planet, and since they saw Joe yesterday for his funk, they just called Kailyn in a Z-Pac to get her back on the mend.

Tonight starts Acro 2 and Jazz/Hip Hop for Kailyn, so that's exciting! She's been dying to wear her new booty shorts ;) Like I said before, she's enrolled in 3 classes this year, so I hope is doesn't wear her down. If so, we may have to make some changes. She is so talented and energetic! I can't wait to see what Myer is into at her age!

All right, all right, I've got to do some work. This getting caught up every 3 months or so is pretty time consuming ;)

Decisions, Decisions.....

Lately, at the Klinge household, there have been major decisions made!
First was Joe. He came to me a few months ago with such a loaded question. "How would you feel if I didn't want to coach wrestling anymore?" Well, on one hand, overjoyed that he could spend more time with us! Practice has him getting home after 6pm every night and they have all day tournaments EVERY Saturday. On the other hand, super sad! This would've been Joe's 5th season with the wrestlers. The kids and I go to every home meet and cheer them on! Last year I started doing more and more for them, it was just like when I used to be a wrestling cheerleader ;) So I guess you're darned if you do and darned if you don't. I told Joe I supported him either way, but that it wasn't my decision to make. So, with a heavy heart, he decided to resign. We will now go to every home meet as a family of spectators! ;) Second was Kailyn. Over the last year, she has become quite the tumbler! She even asked me if she could try out for the Acro Competition team with Shapes. Unfortunately, I told her no for this season. I made a deal with her to try the acro class full time first, and if she was still interested in doing only Acro, that she could try out next season. I just hated to see her give up dance class completely, and I didn't want her to be burned out from competing. We have agreed for her to do a dance class, an acro class and we're holding on to the cheer class as well. I know it seems like a lot, but she gave up Girl Scouts to keep cheer. I also told her that at the end of this season, she'd have to decide whether to specialize in dance or acro. Personally, in our town, I feel like she could go farther with acro and cheer, but I will support whatever she wants to do! Now if someone could just support my wallet! ;)

As for Myer and I, we are major decision-less! I'd like for him to decide to talk, but it's not really happening. I know he understands what we say, but he grunts and points when he wants something. I hope he speaks before kindergarten! Maybe it's that paci, but he's my last baby. I just can't take it from him yet. Like I say, you can tell the kid's smart. Apparently he's a freaking genius, because he doesn't even have to talk to get exactly what he wants! ;)Have a great week! ;)

Long Road

HI! HELLO! ALOHA! HOLA! I am still alive if you happened to wonder. I'm just a bad blogger! Like we've done so many times before, let's get caught up!

Summer is supposed to be a time for relaxation and fun. We've had a little, but I could really use a lot more, fun especially. Poor Kailyn is going to start school with some new hardware. We have begun her journey into braces! She got her expander put on last Wednesday, and we crank it daily to expand her upper jaw. She has really been a trooper and hasn't even been in much pain.....yet..... Maybe she just has been so busy since Wednesday that she hasn't thought about it, though. One of my FAVORITE things to do when I was in school, was go school clothes shopping with my Gma. We would go, just the two of us, to Osage Beach, shop til we dropped and stay in a hotel. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Anyway, yesterday Kailyn went school clothes shopping with Mimi AND Gma. Talk about spoiled ;) They bought Justice out, I think, and then they had ice cream for supper! Today they are headed to the lake for the weekend. Believe me, Myer will probably start his "red carpet" treatment next year! Speaking of Myer:

He is so rotten! I know, I know, "boys are different", but seriously.....BOYS ARE DIFFERENT! I would've never guessed, in a million years, that my kids would be so different. They may look alike, but THAT'S IT! Myer has just about mastered throwing a fit, he gets into everything that's off limits and he only eats when and what he wants. He had his 18 month check up on Wednesday (same day as Kailyn's ortho appointment), and the Doctor said he's small for his age. He's only in the 25th percentile for his height and weight, but the 75th percentile for his head. We are supposed to start pushing calories and try to give him pediasure. Have you ever tasted that crap? It's disgusting! I've been trying to mix it with tons of different things, but we've not been too successful yet. I'm sure he's healthy, so I'm not too terribly worried, but I'd still like for him to drink it.....just to make ME feel better!
School will be starting soon, I can't believe summer is almost over! I did some tax free internet shopping today and also bought Kailyn's school supplies. I think we're ready, since it's coming whether we like it or not ;)

I'd love to say, I'll blog more, but lying is BAD, so I'll just hope you'll keep checking back! I'm loving this much needed rain, I'm hoping it will cool us down at least enough that we could do some outdoor playing! Have a great weekend!
