Time Flies

Hi, my name is Aimee. This is my blog, but I have thoroughly neglected it for almost a full month; and, in all honesty, will probably neglect it for another month following this post. You see, I am on a sweet little vacation called Maternity Leave, and will be until March 17, 2010. Right now my days are filled taking and picking up my sweet kindergartener from school and dance and holding, staring at and nursing my perfect baby boy. Right now, Kailyn is at her dad's and Myer is sleeping away, so I have set aside a few minutes of computer time for myself. The reason I have chosen today to catch up on my blog-loserness is because it is a special day. My teeny tiny newborn baby boy is ONE MONTH OLD TODAY! How sad is that? I look at pictures of Kailyn as an itty bitty baby girl and almost resort to tears over the fact that she is 6 years old, so I have been trying to relish in every single second of Myer's days so that I feel like his "babyness" doesn't slip through my fingers. Unfortunately, time passes and kids grow. Myer, in his one month existance, has already gained almost a pound and a half and has grown two and a quarter inches. That's right, people, I have a 10 pounder! WAAAWAAAWAAA!
Of course many other things have been happening as well. Nothing spectacular, so I won't be going into detail. I go into work once a week to help with accounts payable duties, so as not to bog down my co-workers, Joe has just finished up wrestling season and will soon begin to prepare for mowing, Kailyn is deep into Spring Production practice for dance and is learning to read better everyday, and Myer is eating, pooping and sleeping with the best of them! He does "talk" to us a little and we are patiently awaiting his first meaningful smile (not gas). Kailyn is the best big sister on the planet! She helps in any way possible and has done a GREAT job sharing her parent time, we are so so proud!
Well, Myer is awake and is currently telling his daddy how hungry he is, so I must go. Please know that I will come back to blogging regularly when I have a regular schedule, I promise! Until then, I hope everyone is well and continues to be! (And Good Luck to Lucas on his third trip to India, I know the progress will be even more astounding this time. We can't wait to hear from him!)

Tonight is the Night

That's right, faithful readers, tonight is the night. At 10pm, Joe, my mom and his mom will be checking into the local hospital to start induction. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I'm a bit nervous, I'm not going to lie.....ok, I'm scared. I can totally do this, I know, I've done it before, and I have a fabulous support team, but I'm scared nontheless. The thing that calms me down (a little), is thinking about meeting this baby boy! How exciting is it to have created a human life with someone you love uncontrollably? Baby Myer is going to be such a special addition to our family! While Kailyn isn't ecstatic right now (she really wanted a girl), I think she will be when she gets to see him! I certainly hope Myer's as excited to meet his Mommy and Daddy as we are to meet him! Keep your eyes peeled for a wall post on Facebook. I'll blog as soon as I can after that, I promise! Wish me luck!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAILYN!

6 short years ago on this day, I was blessed with the most gorgeous baby girl on the face of the planet! Kailyn was born (with the help of a lot of pitocin and a fabulous epidural) on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at 4:04pm. She weighed 7 lbs 0.4 oz and was 19 in long. This is my favorite picture from the day she was born! We had Kailyn's Jonas Brothers party this past Sunday. Let me just tell you that she got WAY TOO much! A few of her favorite presents were the Bitty Baby from Mimi and Papa and the Digital Camera from Mommy and Joe.

I am 100% on the downward slope to Myer's arrival! The dr said yesterday that I am 75% effaced and dialated to a 1! He says he'll meet us at the hospital Tuesday (when we are scheduled) or before! Well, I gotta go to the chiropractor for some straightening, Have a Great Day!

Busy Bees

Life is pretty stinkin busy right now! This coming Sunday is Kailyn's Jonas Brothers Birthday Party with her actual 6th birthday following on Wednesday. Where has the time gone? She is so grown up and it makes me so sad. Which brings me to Myer's upcoming birth, hopefully exactly one week after Kailyn's birthday. Don't forget to be thinking of the Klinge's around 10pm on Tuesday, January 19th and definitely on Wednesday, January 20th! We will have a call list for immediate family and friends, and I will also try my best to post on Facebook. For some reason I can't sign in to my blog on Joe's phone, but I can Facebook. And then add wrestling, dance, girl scouts (Cookies are on sale starting today if anyone needs some tasty treats, call me!), nesting, plus everyday life as the cherry on top, and we are some busy bees! My pregnancy with Kailyn was so easy. I almost think that maybe I worked so so so much while I was pregnant with her that I don't remember the little things, but I don't know. Then again, she may have been a super easy pregnancy because she is a high maintenance diva now, and Myer might be a rough pregnancy because he will be such a low maintenance, good baby! HA! We'll see. Just to whine for a moment, because I'm 9 months pregnant, and I can.....
*My back is killing me
*My feet, ankles and calves swell massively on a daily basis
*I have had a body part wedged between two of my ribs for at least a week now
*I'm flipping exhausted
*I have to pee every 10 minutes
*I can't get comfortable, EVER
Whew, I feel a little lighter in the chest area now, thanks!
Well, people, I will do my best to update after my doctor's appointment on Tuesday, but for now, I've got to get everything here at work ahead of the game before I leave! Have a great weekend!

In Excess

It's ok to breath now, folks, Christmas is officially over. What a magical holiday, though, right? Let me just tell you that Kailyn got everything she could possibly ever have asked for plus more. Even baby Myer received presents! My goodness. Kailyn went to her dad's around 2pm on Christmas day and will come home tomorrow at 6pm, but she took her treasured Santa gift with her for the weekend, rest assure! Ole St Nic brought her the BEST present EVER. The only thing she asked the jolly man for was an American Girl Doll Kit or Julie. Now, she has a "Just Like You" American Girl, but has been dying for "Emma" to have a sister/friend/roommate. Below is a picture of the elated threesome:
I'm telling you, she LOVES those Girls!
Now it is almost Birthday/Baby time. Kailyn will be 6 on January 13th, we'll be celebrating on January 10th, and our induction date for meeting Myer is January 19th. As you all know, I am quite a planner, so after a well deserved nap on Friday, I arose and took down ALL of the Christmas decor and put all the new gifts away. Joe and I went to Wal-Mart today to take advantage of the 50% off Christmas items for next year and got a new 7 foot tree for $49!!!!! Anyway, once the New Year arrives, we will be on a downward slope. We'll be super busy up until baby arrival with wrestling/the Marshall Invitational and Birthday/Jonas Brother's Party! I also need to master my Big Top Cupcake before January 10th, as that is what Kailyn wants for her party.
Speaking of As Seen On TV items, I seem to really like them.....and apparently my baby girl does too! My brother, Stephen, got me a Perfect Brownie pan and my Mom and Stepdad got me an MU Snuggie and I'd have to say they are my favorite gifts (other than the new Super Mario Bros game that my Stepmom got me so I can play it on Kailyn's DS - yes, I have to ask her permission to use it!). And Kailyn got the Touch N Brush from my Mom and a pink Snuggie from my Aunt Brenda. We are obviously two peas in a pod!

Well, I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and has a very safe and Happy New Year!

Funny Story

In actuality, I have a couple funny stories.....Enjoy!
*The other night I was flipping through the channels and stopped at the intriguing show I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant. Being the good parents we are, Joe and I decided to watch it, coming to the conclusion that Kailyn would just think that this was a show where babies were born. NEVER underestimate the brain power of an almost 6 year old. The first lady had conceived when her recently born baby boy was 2 months old. The night she delivered, she said she just felt like she had to go to the bathroom really bad, however, when she sat on the toilet, she felt the urge to push and immediately knew what was happening. She stood up, pushed and delivered her baby girl. To this, Kailyn said, "Oh my gosh, Mom, after you have the baby, DO NOT poop." Joe and I chuckled behind her and tried to let the comment disappear on it's own. But do you think we turned the show off.....well, NO! The second lady had a one night stand and didn't know she was pregnant. The night she delivered, she also just thought she was constipated and spent lots of time on the toilet. She remembered not being able to get comfy. After being on the toilet for quite a while and doing a lot of pushing, she gave up and laid in her bed. The pain was so bad she called 911. At the same time she felt an odd sensation "in the wrong area" (if you know what I mean) and there came her baby! After this one, Kailyn said, "Mom, whatever you do, if you have to poop, DO NOT PUSH!" Now, you can't blame any of this on my sweet baby girl, just her horrible parents who let her watch the show, so at that point I simply said, "Thank You", and turned the channel. Please don't turn us in, I promise we'll be more careful with our tv show selection!
Kids are just so funny! It's amazing what they really pick up on. I was telling Joe's Mom the above stories, and she shared one of her own.
*When Joe was in the womb, his sister, Stephanie, was close to Kailyn's age now. Well, Stephanie had been with Fred on the farm for several years at this point and had witnessed many farm happenings (ex: birth, castration, etc). Anywho, as Joe's arrival was nearing, little Stephanie wanted to comfort her Mama. She said, "Mom, don't worry, if you have any trouble getting him out, I'll tie a rope around his feet and pull him out." While that is a wonderful method for cattle, Robin kept her eyes wide open for Steph to grab her jumprope!
TGIF!
