Awards Show

I graciously accept this award for Blogger of the Year! I would like to thank my wonderful family, friends and loyal readers. What's that you say? When you're a crappy blogger you don't get awards? OH! My fault..... I even promised to blog 2 days ago and didn't even get that done. So here I am, geared up and ready to get caught up.

I'm sure there are lots of goings on that are extremely important and intriguing, but let's just fast forward to this past weekend, where I received a multitude of amazing awards!

Friday I received the prestigious award of Dessert Finder of the Year. We went to Dairy Queen with the Bolling's to have some dinner. Of course you can't go to DQ without getting ice cream, so when the time came, I was checking out the big menu in hopes of finding something new and delicious. BINGO! They have a new yummy treat called a Peanut Butter Bash. It is like like a hot fudge sundae with peanut butter sauce too. It also has some chocolate chunks sprinkled on top (all of which I threw in Joe's butterfinger blizzard because they were a bit much). Let me tell you, that thing was AWESOME!

Saturday and Sunday were huge days! I made Taylor Swift at last year's Grammy's look like a chump. It all started when I got Daughter of the Year first thing Saturday morning. I was supposed to be up and have the kids ready by 7:45am to go to the MS Pancake Breakfast with my mom at 8am.....we got there about 8:30am. I moved right along to Most Forgetful when I dropped my mom and kids off at my house to head up to my office to clean and was met in the parking lot by 862,000 people participating in David Kemm's Clean Up Marshall Day.....I turned around and went straight home. My mom and kids were playing outside as Saturday was a BEAUTIFUL day, but my mom and gma were going to take a road trip to the lake just for fun, so she didn't stick around long. She did ask if it was ok if Kailyn road along and I said it was up to her. I bet you're shocked to find out that she about pooped her pants to get to go. We packed her a "car bag" full of activities to supply her time and off they went. Since it was just Myer and I home alone (Joe had a baseball game at the school and yards to mow after that), I decided to accept the award for Wife of the Year and pick up our yard for my hardworking hubby. I picked up all the sticks in the back yard and efficiently moved on to dog poop. We have a poop-picker-upper, which consists of a mini rake and dust pan really (I should've patented that), but I could only find the dust pan thing. Well I didn't want to be stripped of my new award, so I took one for the team, double gloved my hand and picked up the poop. I love my 3 dogs, but they really poop a lot :( Anyway, after that, the backyard was complete and Myer and I moved to the front, where I proceeded to pick up sticks and pine cones (sticky ones, mind you) and Myer proceeded to run from me as fast as he could either toward the street or back to the backyard. To keep him occupied, I went in and got him his juice and he sat on the front porch like a nice little boy and drank it while I pulled weeds around our bushes. After a few minutes, he stood up on the step and was setting his drink on the railing, then he would step down one (there's only 2) and move his cup along. He thought this was pretty fun, and he's really good at steps, so I let him do it. However, as I bent down to pull my next weed, I hear him fall off the second step onto the sidewalk. I ran to him, scooped him up and we went inside. (Please remember this moment, as not only did my son scrape and bruise his outer right eyebrow, but this is also my first nomination for Mom of the Year). Inside, Myer napped and I continued my wifely duties by cleaning and doing laundry. Like I said, Saturday was a really great day, weather-wise, so even after Kailyn got home, we played lots outside. I love it that both of my kids love the outside so much! When we finally came in, both kids were covered in sweat.Joe and I both decided that Myer was in bad need of a hair cut! It grows super fast and was starting to curl around his hat! I asked Joe if he thought we should get him an actual cut or just clipper cut him (I clipper cut Joe's hair at home), and he said clipper. We used our smaller trimmers and Joe picked the second to longest length and said, "Let's start with this one and we can always go shorter." NO NEED! This is where I received my Trimmer of the Year Award. The second to longest, my left butt cheek. My baby boy was scalped!!!!! It does grow on you, and of course he still looks adorable, but the big fat pile of soft blonde curls on my garage floor almost made me throw up.Sunday I started off the day by jumping directly out of bed and going straight to the office to clean. We had a Klinge Family Easter Celebration at 12pm, so I needed to be on top of my scheduling! When I got home, I started getting the kids ready. I bought a curling iron not too long ago, because I really want to curl Kailyn's hair for her dance pictures this year, so I was going to practice by curling it for the Easter Celebration. I got her all sat down, separated her hair, got the very first piece to curl, and BURNT THE LIVING CRAP out of her ear. This, my fine friends, was my second and final nomination for Mom of the Year! I would like to thank my kids for loving their really awesome mom and DFS for not taking my kids away. Luckily, the rest of Sunday went well and we had a really nice day.
Ladies and Gentlemen, that concludes our Awards Show for this sunny Wednesday, thank you and good day!

Now, in the mean time, I (along with my besties) am preparing for the party of the century. Three of us are turning 30 VERY soon and have decided to have an 80's blowout at the skating rink. We have been diligently working to find perfect outfits for, not only ourselves, but also our husbands! Myer is still very ornery and, as you read above, has started running from you when he knows he's not supposed to. He is definitely a daredevil too, that kid will climb ANYTHING! Joe has transitioned into mowing season. He is nowhere near as busy as he used to be when he used to run the business, but he still does our families yards and after a couple crazy storms, cleaning up has been a big job! Kailyn amazes me everyday. She has days when she is an attitude filled, hormone crazed acting, mouthy diva, and other days where she is my sweet, helpful baby girl. She is SO smart and is an excellent reader with a very vivid imagination. She is positive she has the entire world figured out. Ah, to be innocent again. For example, this past Monday, we were watching Dancing with the Stars. Lil' Romeo and Chelsea Heightower were about to dance when Kailyn says, "Her name should be Juliet." I said, "Yeah, that would be cool, huh?" To which she responds, "Taylor Swift's song 'Love Story' must be really popular, did you know they made a book AND a movie about Romeo and Juliet?" I said, "Oh, honey, Romeo and Juliet has been around for a very long time, that story was written by William Shakespeare". She was floored that Taylor Swift was not the orignal author.

People, I am so glad you stick with me, even though I don't blog like I should. I don't want to promise I'll get better, because I probably won't keep that. I always feel like my stories just aren't very interesting or exciting! I used to be a pretty good story writer in high school, maybe I'll just start making stuff up ;)

I certainly hope you're enjoying this weather before the rain sets in and the temperature drops! Have a great week!
