Eureka!

Thanks to my boss, I have made a MAJOR discovery. It is http://www.pandora.com/, and it is fantabulous! It's a free internet radio. You put in your e-mail and a few names of artists and they come up with tons of music that you LOVE! For example, I put in Sister Hazel, Gavin DeGraw and Dave Matthews Band, and all day long I hear various tunes from these and other similar artists. Right now I'm listening to Goo Goo Dolls, Black Balloon (live). I've heard Train, Verve Pipe, Tom Petty and Eric Clapton today as well! There are very, very few commercials. Just believe me, you should check it out. I love how songs can make your heart flutter. They bring back a good old memory (or sometimes even a bad one), and make you realize how you have grown and changed. I DIG IT! Have a great weekend!

Tooth Fairy

Yesterday was Kailyn's dentist appointment and it went great. He did, however, get in there and the next adult tooth is at the surface, so we had him pull both baby teeth. Kailyn was a champ! She cried a little when she got the shot, but I think it was more for the unknown. We covered her eyes so she wouldn't see! We all made it through, but I hope the others come out on their own! Kailyn was so ready for the tooth fairy to come last night. She put her teeth under the pillow that she wasn't going to sleep on and was asleep almost instantly. When she got up this morning, though, she came into the bathroom where I was empty handed. I said, "The tooth fairy didn't bring you anything?" She stretched real big and very non-chalantly said, "I don't know, I haven't checked yet." Are you freaking kidding me?!?! I told her to get her butt back in there and see! JACKPOT.....she got $5 for each tooth! What a fun experience!

Hard Day

Tomorrow will be a hard day. It has been 2 weeks since the discovery of Kailyn's adult tooth. I called the dentist's office this morning and they want to pull her baby tooth tomorrow at 3:30. Immediately my heart fell into my stomach. I asked what they will do, and they said they will give her a shot. A SHOT?! I'm almost 30, I live at the stinkin' dentist's office, and I HATE THOSE SHOTS! Looks like the tooth fairy better up her ante for this tooth.....
Just a couple sweet pictures. My babies are so angellic all the time, but especially when they are sleeping:
Have a great Monday!

Flashback

I think the Flashback Lunch on Y107 is fabulous. I jam out most everyday from 12-1 and love every minute of it! Today I heard "Jump" by Kriss Kross and couldn't help but wonder, "Where are they now?" So I googled them:This is how I knew them:
Looks like they've aged well!
Then I got to thinking about the "hotties" from "back in my day". These fellas were so IT for me!
This is how they look now:I never thought Donnie was cute when NKOTB was popular, but I'd say he came into his own later in life ;) Oh, how those boys used to visit me nightly in my dreams! I wanted to be Mrs. Jonathon Knight - BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Kailyn's getting to that stage now. The crushes on the heart-throbs, you know. Let me tell you, from the looks of things, it seems like she's getting the better end of the bargain, these boys are cutie-patooties!

Hopefully my husband can get our internet working this weekend and I can post again! T.G.I.F!

A Few Favorites

Obviously I LOVE Kathy McCloy Photography. She always finds the most amazing, candid shots of my kids and hubby.
Myer looks so possessive of Kailyn in this one, like, "This is my sister.....back off!"

A big, mushy Klinge sandwich filled with love!
My hubby is HOT!How fun is this picture?! Kathy honestly layed on the ground to get it, but one of Kailyn's favorite things in the world is swinging, as you can tell by her face.....this picture makes my heart very happy!

Myer is the first Klinge grandson. He's carrying on the family name. This picture makes my heart very happy too!

When it Rains.....

This past Friday was MHS's Homecoming.
It was a somewhat drizzly morning, but then the clouds opened up to a very pretty sun. Perfect weather for the parade, which Kailyn decided not to do since the Shapes girls were walking. She did parade around the square that morning with her school, though. The weather did not stay so perfect, however. Lightning started and that delayed the game. They got to play until halftime and there was rain and more lightning. The Homecoming Activities were done in the gym inside, but eventually the game was cancelled.
Our power went out at home around 10pm, while Joe was still cleaning up the football field, so Kailyn and I got out some candles and flashlights and Myer slept. About 10:30pm, Kailyn and I went to the garage to make sure no water was coming in, we checked the basement too, and it was all dry. Joe got home shortly after, took a shower and we were all ready for bed. Kailyn and I went to lay down and Joe headed to take the dogs out one last time, when I heard Joe yell my name. I yelled back, but he didn't answer, so I got scared that he had fallen or something (my stepdad fell off a ladder Wednesday night and ended up in the ER with bumps, bruises and 2 dislocated fingers). When I got to the top of the steps that lead to the garage, I heard the worst sound. Water running.....everywhere. It's no exaggeration, it was in the garage, the entryway, the toy room and the basement. In the basement, it was literally pouring out of the walls. We had 3.5 inches down there. It was coming in so fast that our drains couldn't possibly keep up, and let me remind you that our electricity was out, so our sump-pump wasn't helping either. The power finally came back on around 11:30pm, and Joe ran a snake through the basement drain to try and help the water go down faster. While all the water was gone Saturday morning, the dampness was definitely not! We called Serv-Pro and have fans and dehumidifiers all over. What a bummer. We lost a few things, but absolutely nothing that was irreplaceable, and that's lucky. We'll have an insurance adjuster coming in the next couple of days.
Aside from the flood, life went on in the house! I got all my hair chopped off and we went to a super fun 10th Birthday Party for Aubrey on Saturday and Joe mowed. I cleaned and Joe mowed on Sunday, and we brought all our belongings back in on the dry carpet. We are pretty tired, but like I said, nothing we lost was irreplaceable, and I feel good about that. I hope this insurance thing goes smoothly.
I got my permanent bridge put on this morning. It looks nice. I asked the dentist about Kailyn's tooth, and he said to give it a couple weeks. She'll be happy to hear that! I guess I'd better get back to work. I'm extremely tired today, I'm not sure if Myer had a tummy ache or if he's working on some teeth, but he was pretty fussy all night. Thank goodness for Sonic Tea!

To Tell the Tooth

The Klinge household seems to be having some tooth trauma. I have horrible teeth, so any troubles just seem normal to me anymore. I will be going to the dentist next Monday to get my permanent bridge (which was supposed to be two crowns but turned into a 2-unit bridge once he got to drilling) put on. Anywho, no big deal, like I said, I'm used to the dentist's chair. My kids are a different story.
Let me start by saying that I'm pretty sure every kid Kailyn knows has lost at least one tooth. She has been saying "I'm pretty sure I have a loose tooth" for about a year now. Just recently, one of her bottom middle teeth actually started to wiggle ever so slightly. I picked up Kailyn from After School Program today after work. She ran to me and said, "Hey mom, check this out". She opened her mouth nice and wide and right there, behind the loose tooth, was a permanent tooth. That's right, she hasn't lost any baby teeth yet, but she did get an adult one. Luckily, I called the dentist's office and they said to keep wiggling the tooth and hopefully it will come out on it's own. However, if it's still in there after a week, we'll have to make an appointment to have it pulled. We've certainly got our fingers crossed that the tooth comes out, but Kailyn has an extreme under bite, and this permanent tooth is the epitome of an under bite! I don't know that it growing is going to help push the baby tooth out at all.
Now on the opposite end of the spectrum is Myer. He has recently gotten his first 2 teeth. Let me tell you, he thinks they're pretty cool. As in when he's done eating, he bites down.....and he doesn't take a bottle, if you know what I'm saying. I can tell when he's going to do it now, so I've been able to prevent some pain, but he's still taken me by surprise a few times. He loves to chew on things ALL the time. Toys, food, dogs, skin, etc. I really hope I don't have a "biter".Tomorrow is MHS Homecoming! If it's not raining, Kailyn will ride with Shapes in the parade, but with both kids being sick this past weekend, she'll just watch if the weather's bad. Same with the football game, we'll try to go if it's dry, but it's just not worth it if it's yucky. Our gorgeous niece is one of the Homecoming Court Crown bearers, though, so I really hope the weather works out!

3 Day Weekend

I sure do love 3 day weekends! You don't have to jam everything you need to get done in one day in order to have the other day to relax.
We've done quite a bit of relaxing over this Labor Day Holiday. Don't get me wrong, it started off a little rocky. Friday I took both the kids to the doctor. Kailyn had fluid on her right ear and Myer had fluid on his left. Figures, huh? Friday night, I went to my dad's to say my good bye to Kaytee. I really feel like, over time, my dad will realize that Kaytee is in a much better place. I know his heart hurts so badly right now. I can't even imagine going through that with one of our dogs. What a sad day. Enough of that.....
Myer is 100% on the verge of crawling. He can definitely get wherever he wants to go, he just scoots and rolls. Crawling is right there, though! He can also clap these days! I went to a garage sale this weekend and got an awesome exersaucer/walk-around for Myer. The seat turns all the way around, but two of the legs have wheels with one as a base and the child can walk around the base! We don't have room for a walker to roam the house, so finding this was PERFECT! Myer loves it!

Kailyn has been trying to master hanging upside-down on the swingset bar lately. She finally got it on Saturday! I love when she learns new things, she is so proud of herself and it makes me proud too!

We got to see my sweet baby sister Friday night! Kailyn was SUPER excited when Aunt Jordan came for a sleepover! She must've been a good luck charm, because the Owls football team got their first win of the season! MU beat Illinois on Saturday too. If only the Cards could have won :(
Well, Myer has played himself to sleep,

and Kailyn is stuffing her face with graham crackers dipped in rainbow chip icing while watching Hannah Montana Forever,

so I guess I'd better get some cleaning done! Have a great Labor Day!

The St. Bernard is a very large breed of working dog from the Swiss Alps, originally bred for rescue. The breed has become famous through tales of alpine rescues, as well as for its large size.

Meet Kaytee:Kaytee was born in January of 1999, my senior year in high school. When her litter was born, my dad and I went over and picked her out amongst all of her little furry brothers and sisters. The girl who owned Kaytee's mother, Annie, weaned the pups early, and she came home at 6 weeks, on Valentine's Day. The first night was pretty rough. Kaytee cried just like a new baby. I would get up with her, get her settled down and then put her back in her makeshift bed. Once that night I woke up and couldn't find her anywhere. Right when I started to really freak out, I found her wedged between my pillow and the couch. I apparently had fallen asleep before I got her put back in bed! Over the years, Kaytee has gotten a little too big to wedge anywhere on the couch. She's got a bad case of hip dysplasia and an ornery attitude. She LOVES my dad, sister and me and doesn't really care about anyone else, unless you're messing with one of us! A couple of years ago, Kaytee's vet found a tumor on her side and said it was cancerous. My dad ok'd the surgery, but it was pretty risky. They didn't know if it was attached to any organs or if it had spread at all. Jordan, Penny and I went to the vet's office the night before the surgery and told Kaytee good bye, because if the tumor was too much to handle, the vet was just going to leave her asleep. Kaytee obviously knew better. As Jordan and I were in her face bawling like babies and tried to tell her good bye, she turned her head like she was mad. I think she wanted to say, "Thanks for the vote of confidence, bitches!". Anywho, she made it through the surgery and was 4 pounds lighter from the tumor removal! She even acted a bit younger for a while, jumping around and acting crazy. Last night my dad called me. He said he had a dog dilemma. He said Kaytee has hot spots again. The medicine to cure them makes her have to potty every hour if not more. At this point, Kaytee doesn't walk very well. Getting up and down is a chore, as well as squatting to go to the bathroom. When she comes in from outside, she breathes like a freight train because she is so worn out. The average life span of a St. Bernard is 8-10 years. Kaytee is 11. Recently, Kaytee's vet just up and moved away. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are plenty of good vet's, but I am extremely partial to mine. Tom is beyond amazing. I've known their family for as long as I remember, and I hung out with their sons tons in high school. My dad called to ask me if I thought he should talk to Tom about Kaytee. I told him that I felt Tom was very open and honest about what needed to be done for our animals, but he wasn't pushy. Dad felt good about that. Unfortunately, I think we both know what Tom's going to say. Honestly, Kaytee can't even load into a vehicle to go to the vet's office because her hips are so bad now. Dad will have to ask Tom to go to his house. I know he will, because he's that caring. Wow. In the last year, my mom has put down her 13 year old miniature schnauzer, Beau, due to tumors and her 2 year old tundra shepard, Roxy, due to a bone chip, and while I know I should be super positive, I don't think it's possible.
Sorry to be a "Debbie Downer", but my heart and mind are heavy today :(

Here We Grow

How our babies seem to grow by leaps and bounds every single day!
Kailyn is still LOVING first grade. Her personality is shining in the classroom, and she is reading and writing like a pro!Myer is looking more like his Dad all the time and is even starting to mimic his habits. Like the odd talent of being able to fall asleep anywhere, anytime ;) !Nelson is coming into his own, too. He seems to be getting longer, but not taller. He's learned to sit and is working on laying down. We still have a few accidents, but he is definitely figuring out potty training. All 3 dogs play together now, one might even say they like each other. Have a fabulous Hump Day!
