Rain, Rain, Go Away!
I'm not sure if it's just me or not, but this rain is really getting old! It makes it so hard to get out of bed and get motivated for the day when it is so dreary outside. All I want to do is sleep.
My poor, sweet baby, Kailyn, has pink eye in both eyes and a left ear infection. OUCH! Dr. Ulbrich said her little throat was red, but that her strep test was negative. The really sad part is that we saw Crystal and Carlee McGraw also at the Dr's office, and Miss Carlee has pink eye too! The girls were playing together Sunday at Aiden's party, so we've spread it to each other. I called Tracey to warn her of the "outbreak", and she said that Aiden had pink eye the weekend before, so hopefully he doesn't get it again. And hopefully baby Allie doesn't get it at all!
My car is being fixed today! Kevin Samson looked at it yesterday, ordered the part and is fixing it this morning!
Joe and I watched Taken last night. Let me just tell you, that movie is awesome. Liam Nieson is a bad ass!
I don't really have much today, I really should be doing some work! I didn't put a picture up yesterday, and I didn't have one for today either, so I put a sweet one of Kailyn from her dance production with her $7 fake eyelashes and priceless dimples! So You Think You Can Dance is on tonight - YAY!!!!! Happy Hump Day to all!

Busy Weekend!
OH NO! I somewhat fell off the 'ol bandwagon didn't I? I guess it has been several days since my last post, so we'll need to spend some quality time together and get caught up!
Thursday night was pretty darn laid back. Kailyn and I played and packed her suitcase, and then we watched the season premier of So You Think You Can Dance. This season looks very promising, I liked several of the dancers. My favorite were the last two of the show, although I can't remember their names. They were both eliminated last year in the final cut before the top 20. I really wanted the red headed girl to make it to the top 20 last year instead of Katie, but Katie proved her right to be there for sure!
The wonderful Mayor let us off at noon on Friday to prepare for the long weekend. When I got off I went over to my Aunt Brenda's for a picnic on the deck with Kailyn, Aiden, Allie, Aunt Brenda, Gma, Lin and my mom, it was nice! Then Kailyn and I went home and waited for the Bolling kiddos to come over and play while Andy mowed with Joe. The girls have a ton of fun together, and Ayson and I get some quality time too! Kailyn's Nana Kay came and picked her up around 6pm for the beginning of her two week session with her dad, and Kailyn did great! After we were lonely and childless, Joe and I met Andy and Mandi for a little dinner and fun at Los Tres Amigos. When we left there, Joe and I went home and watched SawV. For anyone who likes the Saw movies (we do), this one, while horribly vivid, put a lot of things into perspective. I'm sure there will be a SawVI, which I think would be a bit much, but I'll probably watch it!
Joe and I worked our rears off on Saturday! I did some major shrub trimming at our old house for my Gma while Joe mowed and then trimmed our trees. I'm not going to lie, Joe said he would do the shrub trimming when he had time, but I was hoping to soak up some sun while I did it.....SUCCESS! While outside work is hot, I do love a good tan!
Sunday was Aiden's 3rd birthday party. Jeff had said I could have Kailyn so she could go to the party, so Kay brought her home about 11:30am for the party at noon at Jason and Tracey's. When Kay dropped Kailyn off, she said that Kailyn had run a fever all day Saturday, but had been feeling better. I took her temperature and she didn't have one, but she definitely acted like she wasn't 100%. The party was really fun. Lots of good food, good people and fun presents. The McGraw's got Aiden a big thing of water balloons, and the kids went to town! They thought they were a blast! After the party, my mom took Kailyn back to Miami to Jeff because my front vent motor went out in my Pacifica and it was 9000 degrees. I didn't want all the air from the windows being down on a highway to blow on Kailyn since she didn't feel well already, but Mimi didn't mind getting another 30 minutes in with her granddaughter, believe me! Joe and I went to Bucky and Erica's at 6pm for a BBQ with more good food and friends! Jason and Katie Walls and their twins were in town, the Bolling's came and the King's too! We had another great time! All the kids are getting so big, time has just flown by. Thank goodness Erica will have another one soon!
What a crappy, rainy day yesterday! I think the only thing I got accomplished was moving around furniture and hard core vacuuming my whole house and washing all our bedding. Jeff called and said that Kailyn's eyes had been crusty when she woke up, so she definitely needed a doctor's appointment. I talked to her, Miss Drama, and she said she just wasn't feeling well and that she needed to go to the doctor on Tuesday! She is too funny! I made some pretty tasty pork something-or-other from my Pampered Chef Summer Cookbook for supper and then Joe and I went out to my mom's to see Kailyn's new pony, Bessie. Go ahead, back up and read it again.....it says Kailyn's new pony, Bessie. Mimi and Papa bought Kailyn a pony and brought her home yesterday! Joe and I have decided we'll never top that one! Bessie is really cute, though! I'll put pictures up ASAP! When we got home, Joe and I watched Bedtime Stories, and it was awesome. Love me some Adam Sandler!
Well, that brings us up to today! Whew! Back to reality today at work, BOO! Honestly, though, sometimes it's nice to have the normality of a work day, you know? I put in a call to the doctor's office for Kailyn, and now I am playing the waiting game for a call back. I'd like to say that today will be a fun filled, busy day, but not so much. I'm sure I'll find something to do. Kailyn is supposed to have T-ball tonight, but I don't see that happening with all the rain! Looks like I'll need to listen to KMMO to see if they still have pictures!
Uh Oh, gotta run! The doctor's office just called and they can fit Kailyn in right away! Everyone have a great Tuesday!

And The Winner Is.....
Can you believe Kris Allen won American Idol last night?! Woo Hoo! I screamed like a little girl when Ryan Seacrest announced his name, I was so excited. He is such a great singer and a really genuine guy. Did you hear him after they said he was the winner, he said he was speechless and that Adam should have won. No, buddy, you should have won.....and you did! The last shot was of his wife finally making it to the platform where he was and hugging him. When they did the close up of them, he was crying, it was so sweet! Yay Kris!
I also forgot to talk about the winner of Dancing With The Stars! Shawn Johnson won! Again, Woo Hoo! Could you imagine being 17 and having already won gold medals at the Olympics and then winning Dancing With The Stars? Whoa! She worked so hard, and I wanted either her or Melissa to win (Kailyn wanted Shawn to win), so I was really happy to have heard that Shawn won! We missed that finale because we were in Carrollton and our own dancing show!

I know, I know, I'm a reality show junky! Tonight kicks off my FAVORITE reality show! So You Think You Can Dance is the best show ever created! If you haven't seen it before, it is on Fox and the 2 hour season premier is tonight at 7pm. The amount of talent on that show is astounding. I love love love it!
Well, on the down side, I guess I must pack Kailyn's suitcase tonight for her first 2 week session of the summer with her dad. Boo Hoo! I think the only up side to it is that at least this year he lives back in town. I'll get to see her at her T-Ball games for sure, and then maybe I'll see her randomly around town, which was completely impossible when he still lived in K.C.!
In closing, Kathy McCloy is a photographic genius! I got to see our completed gallery from the "We Did It" session yesterday, and they are absolutely amazing! Thank you, Kathy, how you do what you do, I will never know, but I LOVE IT!

Shapes Dance Production 2009!
Let me just start out by saying, SHAPES Dance and Acro Studio ROCKS! While it was at least 800 degrees in the Carrollton High School Auditorium, the show was still fantastic. All the girls did so so so great! Aubrey by far has the best cartwheels in her class, Adi was a major rumpshaker and Averi and Kailyn were partners of the year. All the girls had their make up done by the girls at Shapes this year and they loved it. Kailyn and Averi got fake eyelashes put on! Seriously, those things were $7.....highway robbery! The whole experience was such a blast! The girls have really worked hard over the past year and it paid off. There were so many great dancers and gymnasts, it was mind blowing! And to top it off, the Competition Moms did a dance too. Last year it was the dad's and they were pure entertainment, but let me tell you, those mama's were AWESOME! I had to call Tonya Varner at work this morning and tell her just how great she was. Joe was telling me last night, that he hopes that since Shapes will be in Marshall next year, he wants Tracy to ask the dad's to dance at our Production next year! He wants them to set up the trampoline like the mom's had last night, because he's just sure he can pull 2 backflips on it. Isn't that sweet? Speaking of sweet, they were selling carnations at the Production last night, so I bought Kailyn a pink one for after the show. Well, I ran to the dressing room with my awesome pink carnation to Congratulate Kailyn on a great show, and when I walked in, she already had a red one! I asked her where she got that one, and she said Joe! He said he didn't know that I had gotten her one, (even though my mom held it the whole time and he sat one person away from her for 3 and a half hours) so he got her one. AAAAHHHH!!!!
Well people, that's all I've got! I am super stoked because Kailyn and I have NOTHING to do tonight or tomorrow! Thursday night, we will have to get her all packed up for her first two week session of the summer with her dad :( but other than that, we are FREE!!!!!
Happy Hump Day!!!!!

MHS Class of 2009
This has been a great weekend! Last night was Mike's graduation party, well, he and Stephanie Heinzler's, out at Homey's. It was a really great time! Chilly, but a good time nonetheless. There was a ton of amazing food and lots of amazing people.
Today was such a beautiful day for graduation! The Graduation for MHS's Class of 2009 only lasted about an hour and ten minutes, which was fantastic! The speeches were really good, they had the class president, the valedictorian and a fellow classmate speak, and they were all very nice! It is hard to believe that exactly 10 years ago, my fellow classmates and I were doing this very same thing! Wah, we're old! Just kidding!
I honestly don't have very much to say, just that it's been a fun weekend! You'd think that being 10 years out of High School, I'd be smart enough to wear sunscreen today, but I wanted to get a little sun, so I only put it on Kailyn, and I got a bit more than I bargained for! Oopsy!
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CATHY!!!!!

OMG!
WARNING: If you TiVoed Grey's Anatomy last night, you need to stop right here! DO NOT read on! For those of you who did catch it, WTF? I have felt ok with the whole "Izzie tumor thing", because I had read that T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl were NOT leaving the show. So what happened to that? And honestly, it was George the whole time? Are you kidding me? George and Izzie CANNOT die! That was such a cliffhanger season ending, I mean, I know that's the point, but COME ON! I really do love that show.
Mike, Kailyn and I went to the Pop Assembly last night at MHS. It was pretty good. The songs were different, they don't do all current ones anymore. Like they did "Wannabe" by the SpiceGirls. I mean, don't get me wrong, there were some great voices and a great band, but it is so different now. I never thought I'd be one of those people who said, "It's just not like back in my day," but it's really true!!!!!
Well, today should be a pretty laid back Friday, hopefully. I have put on an Employee Appreciation Picnic for all the City workers today, and most normally the Mayor lets us off after the meal, so that's exciting! I'll pick Kailyn up from her last day of school as a preschooler after naptime and I promised her we could go to Wal-Mart. My gma got her a Wal-Mart gift card for graduation and it has been burning a hole in her pocket! Then home to clean the toyroom. Honestly, you can't even walk in there from Kailyn's rearranging, it looks like a tornado hit that room!

So last night was the last night of Firefly's at church for Kailyn. Mandi helps with the program and told me a pretty funny story about my kiddo when I came to pick her up. Just to back up a little bit, Kailyn has some sort of obsession with throwing up. At least 3 times a week, out of nowhere, she'll say, "I puked a little" or "I threw up a little at school today". Now, please don't think I've got some bulemic 5 year old, she really never pukes (knock on wood), she just says she does. Anywho.....since it was the last night of Firefly's, they had supper. Kailyn ate her entire hotdog, some chips and part of a brownie. Then she started to eat a starburst, and that's when it happened. She spit out the starburst, turned to Mandi and said, "I puked on my starburst". As Mandi looked at the starburst covered in chocolate (remember the brownie), she said, "Are you sure?", to which Kailyn responded, "Yea, I puked on my starburst!". Mandi then said, "Do you think maybe you just had some chocolate in your teeth from your brownie?" and Kailyn said, "Oh.....maybe". Wow! I don't know where she gets it, but she is obsessed!
Who saw American Idol last night? WOO HOO! What a fantastic finale it will be. I am so excited that Chris made it!!!!! And for tonight, you ask? A 2 hour season finale of Grey's Anatomy! On people.com it said Chandra Wilson says to keep your tissues handy. I cry at that show every week anyway, so I'll probably need an entire box tonight! I'm hoping to make it home in time, the MHS Pop Assembly is tonight at 7pm at the high school and I promised my baby sister, who is a junior now :( , that I would be there. Well, it had better only last an hour, darnit, I've got important business to attend to!
Speaking of my baby sister being a junior already, Mike graduates on Sunday! The weather is looking pretty good so far, I hope it stays that way. His party is going to be on Saturday, it'll be really fun! Kailyn and I have to be in Carrollton for her dress rehearsal at 1pm, and we'll be there until probably 3:30 or 4, which is when the party starts for Mike! Looks like we'll make a "fashionably late" entrance!
Joke of the day: What did the 0 say to the 8?
Nice Belt! hee hee hee!

The Daily Grind
So it seems that I must do much work today.....BOO! With the holiday and Kailyn's graduation, I've been off a couple of days and now I've got some catching up to do. But before that nonsense,
Did anyone watch American Idol last night? If you did, did Chris Allen BLOW YOU OUT OF THE WATER? OMG he was fantastic. I love his voice and have since the beginning, but last night when he sang "Heartless", I got chills. I tried to figure out how to upload a video to this thing, but I couldn't exactly figure it out, so I posted a link to the video on you tube. Check it out, but be ready for amazing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujc6rM7IiMM. I'm sure Adam Lambert will win, but I sure wish the dark horse would!
How about Dancing With The Stars? I know, I know, I watch too many reality shows, but poor Ty. He was obviously terrible, but gosh darn it he tried his heart out. And Chelsea Heightower, the new pro and Ty's partner, came straight from my FAVORITE show, So You Think You Can Dance. I think they did really well! Now I just need to decide if I like Melissa Rycroft or Shawn Johnson better, I really like both of them. I think either one of them could win and I would be satisfied!
Kailyn had her first T-ball practice last night, and she did really well, I think she's really going to like it! It helps that Karsyn King is on her team and that Jarrid is one of the coaches!
A little something for you to ponder today.....Did you know you can tune a piano but you can't tune a fish! HAHAHAHA! Get it (Tunafish)? Good stuff, people!

Where does the time go?
Today, my friends, is a happy/sad day! My little baby, Kailyn, graduates from St. Peter's Preschool today! Wah, Wah, Wah! I know she can't stay little forever, but does she have to grow so fast? This morning I asked her how she wanted her hair done, and she wanted it straightened and wanted some makeup on. Makeup? Wah, Wah, Wah! She can't be graduating from preschool already! After I had gotten her all ready, she said, "Mama, for my next graduation, will you paint my fingernails and toenails?". I told her absolutely, all the while thinking in the back of my head, "You'll graduate next in 8th grade and you probably won't even like me by then!". Wah, Wah, Wah! Well, enough crying, I have posted to photos to this whiny blog, one of my favorite baby pictures of Kailyn, and one taken this morning in her cap and gown. Wish me luck for 1pm, I'm probably going to cry like a baby!

No Introductions Needed?
I seriously doubt I'll have some massive "blog following fan club", but just in case, or for my friends whom I'll force to read this, let's get caught up with the chaos that I call life!
So March 28th, 2009, Joe and I got married, which was AMAZING! All of our very best friends and wonderful family members were there! (Well, the ones who could make it through the rain, hail, thunder, sleet and snow!) The following weekend, our family moved to Salt Pond street in town. We'd been looking for houses for quite a while, and finally made a move on a great deal. Our house is right across the street from Joe's Aunt Pam and 2 houses from his parents. We are always in town for various activities, so we are absolutely loving living right in the middle of it! As for our various activities, Kailyn GRADUATES PRESCHOOL tomorrow at 1pm, how sad is that? She just finished up Soccer (Sunday's and Monday practices), this week is her last week of Firefly's at church (Wednesday's), she starts T-ball practice this Tuesday and will then have regular games starting May 26th (Tuesday's), this is her last week of dance class at Shapes Dance and Acro in Carrollton (Thursday's - thanks to Mandi for taking her!), this Saturday is the dress rehearsal for the Shapes Production put on at the end of the season, and next Tuesday, May 19th is the 4, let me repeat, FOUR hour Production. Ah, breathe.....Oh wait, there's Joe too! He mows and mows and mows. Thank goodness Monday is the last day of school, because right now, with 44 yards, his only saving grace is Andy's help! He gets home on weekdays in just enough time for Kailyn and I to go to bed! Speaking of Monday's, Slowpitch Softball season is upon us, and of course Joe plays. Add that to the list! And there's also Kailyn going to her dad's for 3 two week sessions in May, June and July :(! Now breathe, whew!
By the way, be on the lookout! This past Sunday, Joe and I did a fantastic "We Did It" session with the AMAZING Kathy McCloy!
Fresh Blogger!
Well, well, well, I've jumped directly on the blogging bandwagon! I have wanted to for a while, but just haven't taken time to do it yet. So that's my new goal.....making time for myself! I will allow myself time to unwind and unleash through this blog. It seems like everyday life goes by a little faster, and I'm always trying to catch up, or figure out where the time went. Well, no more! By definition, serenity is the state or quality of being serene, calm or tranquil, and gosh darn it I'm going to embrace me some serenity! So welcome to my blog, and welcome to the new serene me!
In closing, a little funny: I was trying and trying to wake Kailyn up this morning, and she just couldn't seem to get it done. I started putting her capri pants on anyway, hoping she would wake up, however, her response was; "Mom, what are you doing? I'm so tired, I don't even have time for this!". Oh honey, join the club!
